Thrilling Victory: Boys Basketball EABH vs. OLM



The EABH Hawks boy's basketball team played their second game of the day against the Our Lady of Mercy Lancers. Even though their captain, Pedro Jorge (7), couldn't play due to an injury, he was on the sidelines giving energy and support to the team. In the very beginning of the game, Pedro Luiz (13) scored the first point for the Hawks with a free throw. Tiago Loures (5) added two more points for the Hawks, and soon after, Pedro Luiz (13) made an impressive three-pointer, giving the Hawks a lead in the match. However, the OLM Lancers wouldn't let the Hawks dominate, scoring a three-pointer. But even so, Tiago Loures (5) scored another two-pointer. The court was silent while an OLM player made a free throw, but he failed to score. Right after, Pedro Almeida (11) made a free throw for the Hawks and scored one more point, finishing the first quarter with a score of 9-6 in favor of EABH.


The second quarter started with Lucas Coutinho (17) scoring a three-pointer. Felipe Wanderley (8), Massimiliano Vicintin (3), and Lucca Crepaldi (15) joining the court with a lot of energy. Bernardo Veloso (4) showed great skills scoring a brilliant three-pointer, keeping the Hawks on the lead with a score of 18-5. As João Gama (2) entered the game, Bernardo Veloso (4) proceeded on fire, scoring more points. In the third quarter, the Lancers entered the court with blood in their eyes, and managed to reach the Hawks, but Tiago Loures (5) scored a free throw and a three-pointer, and Pedro Almeida (11) also scored a three-pointer, widening the score gap. Arthur Mello (14) and Jakob Timmerman (12) made key plays, but OLM came with everything they had, closing the gap to 27-26. 


In the final moments, Lucca Crepaldi (15) scored a crucial two-pointer, but OLM managed to reach the Hawks at a tie of 29-29, after a free throw. With minutes left to the game, everyone in the crowd was tense and all eyes were on Mathieu Lessage (10). In a heroic final move, Mathieu scored a free throw, securing the victory for the Hawks with a score of 30-29.
