In a challenging match, the EABH Lady Hawks faced the OLM Lancers in a game full of intensity and competitiveness. The game began with both teams balanced, but soon the Lancers were leading with much vigor, making the game more thrilling.
The Hawks found their rhythm due to the outstanding performance of our captains Carol Bonato (14) and Summer Rose (17), who contributed to crucial points scored. Ester Nascimento (15) scored a free throw and Helena Dias (6), shifted the mood upon entering the court by making baskets that lifted the Hawks' spirits.
However, the game was filled with controversies. Coach Fred received a technical foul after he argued a no-call foul committed by an OLM player, which many spectators believed was an unfair decision.
In the final four minutes of the game, an unusual situation occurred as the referees did not stop the clock while the ball was out of bounds, despite the crowd’s notifications. This resulted in a significant loss of time for the Hawks, costing them crucial minutes that could have led to nearly reaching a tie with the Lancers. Students and teachers from EABH, expressed their frustration about the refereeing, stating that it was an unfair game.
Despite their efforts, the Hawks finished the game with a score of 20-14 and did not qualify for semi-finals. While the outcome was not what they expected, The Lady Hawks are determined to come back with more strength next year!
