The Silence That Speaks

It's not the silence that hurts,

But all the weight it holds;

The stories locked inside,

The words it never told.

A quiet so loud,

It feels the empty air,

With echoes of what's missing,

Of thoughts I cannot share.

What is silence if not a cover,

Hiding what we're scared to show?

A place of unspoken words,

For things we will never know.

It doesn't break, it stays,

A feeling I can't forget.

It's not the silence that hurts,

But everything it hides.
