We are all facing days where everyone is addicted to their phones. To try to ease the situation, some schools are banning cell phones. One of those schools is EABH, who took cell phones from 6th to 8th grade. In my opinion banning cell phones from our school was very beneficial for socialization, learning and making people less addicted.
Banning cell phones from MS was very beneficial for better learning. Studies show that having your cell phones out when studying can lower your concentration to 20%. In other words cell phones get you very distracted lowering your concentration making you less productive. Resulting in learning less and not getting a lot of work done. We can be more focused without our cellphones resulting in better learning and productivity.
Cell Phones out of MS helped us to stay more together and united. As an 8th grade student I can tell that without our cell phones we started to talk and interact with each other, instead of messing with social media and games/Brawl Stars. It suggests that because we did not have our cellphones to play with we started to talk more about productive things and enjoy our friends. Additionally we started to know more about each other and spent more time together. My friends started to enjoy and play together every second of our days, causin a huge positive impact on our friendship, because we didn’t have our cellphones.
Not having cellphones in school made students less dependent on their cellphones. Most of my friends couldn’t last 1 hour without their phones. It was secure to have their phones with them. When they discovered that they would have to stay from 7:45 to 3:00 without their cellphones was shocking. It shows that students were able to spend 7 hours without their phones. Not having them in school made students have less hours per day on screen, making their addiction smaller. Kids had less time on screen making them less addicted to their phones.
Banning phones from Middle School was very beneficial for learning, socialization and lowering student’s addiction to it. Our school with less screen time became happier and productive. Everyone was talking and enjoying more time with each other. Cell phones out of grades 6 to 8G were very beneficial and we can see clearly the difference. Our school without cell-phones became much better and every school could try implementing that policy.
