Dear Readers,
I am thrilled to welcome you to The Daily Hawk’s first issue for the 24/25 academic year. As this letter marks the beginning of my journey as the newspaper’s Editor-in-Chief, I can’t help but reflect on its deep impact on me. When I joined TDH three years ago as that shy and clearly lost member, I couldn’t have imagined the transformative journey that I was embarking on. My personal story within the club has now become one of the many testaments to how this newspaper not only sharpens students into better writers and communicators, but also helps them develop a wide array of journalistic skills. I am incredibly proud of how TDH has shaped me and countless others over the years.
This first issue is a culmination of lots of hard work, dedication, and especially growth. Behind the scenes, we’ve undergone many internal changes and welcomed new members, many of whom are starting their own trajectories as journalists. Their fresh perspectives and ideas bring new life to our pages, and I’m so excited to see them thrive as the year goes by.
This year, we’re adding an extra issue to our calendar, meaning that this is the first of seven we will be publishing this year, and for the first time, each digital issue will have a printed version. We are also excited about expanding our reach by more robustly taking advantage of different media vehicles such as podcasts, video interviews, and Instagram. We hope this change will provide you with richer, more engaging content, and we are so happy to be sharing it with you!
Thank you for being our biggest motivators and adding purpose to our learning journey. We are excited to continue telling stories, sharing insights, and bringing The Daily Hawk to new flying heights this year.
Sincerely,
Vitor Szuster
The Daily Hawk’s Editor-in-Chief
