The game between The British School (falcons) and EABH (hawks) started with an unexpected intensity, as the Falcons quickly established dominance by scoring four points from the start, catching both Mr. Fred, the EABH coach, and our athletes off guard, putting them on edge. However, as the game progressed, the match became tight, and neither side was able to add points until the end of the first half.
It was an intense atmosphere throughout, with both teams struggling to break through the tight defenses. By the end of the third quarter, the Falcons scored more than three baskets, reaching a score of 10 while the Hawks remained scoreless.
It wasn't until there were only ten seconds left in the third quarter of the game that the drought finally broke, with Maria Fernanda Vallerini (7) scoring the team's first points. In the final quarter, Summer Rose (17), the Lady Hawks Captain, successfully landed a free throw, leaving the team and giving the members some momentum. Soon after, in a dramatic finish, Carol Bonato nailed a 3-point shot at the very last second of the game.
The final score was 14-6 in favor of the Falcons.
Despite the defeat, the Hawks showed their effort and perseverance throughout this match, especially after an intense start. They eventually found their rhythm and kept pushing until the final whistle.
