Formula 1: An Overview

What is Formula 1?


Formula 1 is one of the most famous motor sports in the world. In this season, there are 10 teams with 2 pilots competing in 22 tracks. The better a driver's position, the more points, which are accumulated throughout the season, are earned. The 2022 F1 season recently ended, November 20th, with the Abu Dhabi race, which, coincidently, is very close to Qatar, the host of this year's World Cup.

Formula 1 races have been happening since the 1950s, but the cars were much smaller and more dangerous.

Formula 1 Best Drivers

People have varying opinions regarding this topic, but it would be unheard of to not mention Ayrton Senna, one of the greatest drivers of all time. The legend has won 3 championships throughout the entirety of his stately career, while Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton are the biggest winners with 7 championships each.

2022 Season

In this season, we had 22 races.The champion was Max Verstapen, from Red Bull; Charles Lerclerc, from Ferrari, came in second, and Sérgio Perez, also from Red Bull, won third place. It was an intense season with Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull fighting for 1st place. The top 5 ranked are as follows: .



Interestingly, the Abu Dhabi race occurs inside a hotel called Yas Island. Another famous track is the Spa-Franco champs, located in Belgium. A lap in this track is 7 km long, the biggest on the F1 calendar.


The history of F1 is long and rich, catapulting iconic figures into stardom such as Ayrton Senna and Lewis Hamilton. This year's championship had exhilarating performances and shocking plot twists that will surely be remembered for years to come.
