For me, Christmas is the only time of the month where my family feels complete. People come from everywhere, making the moments special. We gather around the fireplace to start talking and laughing about new dreams, remembering how the year was. I remember the smell of cream brûlée invading my grandma’s 2 floors house. All of my cousins would gather around the long black sofa to watch a Christmas movie and wait for the dinner to get ready. We were all so crowded that some of us needed to sit on the ground so we could all watch it together.
My grandma bought us popcorn and every other thing we wanted. She'd always prepare everything and try to make everyone feel welcome and happy. She always bought coconut water and made nonsugar desserts for me; it just made me feel special. I hope to care about other people as much as she cares about me.
The magic of Santa Claus and receiving the presents you were waiting for is very special. The simple feeling of believing and letting the magic take control is very significant to me and has a bigger meaning than just a celebration. For me, Christmas represents a restart and a time for deep reflection.
