Cheerleading at EABH: Why Is It Time to Add This Sport as an After-school Activity

Have you ever wondered why our school doesn’t have cheerleading as an after-school activity? Imagine walking into school when it's having a game and feeling victory, or you being part of the victory of the team? Making cheerleading an after-school sport like volleyball, soccer, and basketball, should become a priority in EABH. It improves health, teamwork abilities, leadership, and most of all, brings a great school spirit.

Cheerleading is beneficial to health just like other sports, but it improves mostly your physical and mental strength since we often need to do stunts and jumps, while keeping a beautiful smile. It is also considered an excellent cardio workout because it typically uses lots of energy. Cheer demands a lot of flexibility, and the more practice we have, the wider our range of movements becomes.

Teamwork is a very important skill to develop, it not only helps communication outside the academic system, but it also helps benefit students in school. In cheer, teamwork is a skill that benefits everyone because the team as a whole has people with different skills, which leads to everyone having to work together to create a successful presentation.

The cheerleading team's goal is to bring good energy to the school community by cheering for the victory of the school. The cheer, chants, and positive vibes help keep the team motivated. The cheer team helps by giving extra support to the game, and this encouragement helps everyone feel more connected and proud of our school, no matter if the team is winning or losing.  The sport should be an after-school sport as it helps students stay healthy, learn more about teamwork, and build school spirit. It brings everyone together and makes our school a better and more exciting place to be.
