On September 26th, at 8:00 AM, the first ISSL game for EABH began. The Hawks were ready to play against the Falcons from TBS Barra. The atmosphere was intense from the start, and it quickly escalated into a competitive match filled with tension. As the game started, the Hawks’ defense stood strong, with Pedro Luiz (13) and Pedro Jorge (7) dominating the rebounds. The team's communication was terrific and the crowd was cheering and encouraging the players. With so much motivation from the crowd and team, Tiago Loures (5) showed off his talent scoring two 2 pointers in a row.
Despite the Hawks solid teamwork, the Falcons didn't back down. Mathieu Lessage (10) scored a crucial two-pointer, and Pedro Luiz (13) came back into the game just in time to save the Hawks from a counterattack. Pedro Jorge's (7) consistent performance at the free-throw kept the Hawks going. The TBS Barra team began to keep up with the Hawks’ timing and scored back-to-back points, and EABH defended with resilience. The game's tension was just increasing as both teams fought for control, keeping the score neck-to-neck.
As the third quarter began, the Falcons came out strong, scoring five quick points and bringing a lot of energy to the court. With that much pressure, the Hawks found themselves struggling to keep the pace. Mathieu Lessage (10) and Chase Mason (6) gave everything they had, with Chase grabbing every rebound he could. Yet, the Falcon's unstopping attacks made it difficult for EABH to close the gap.
With just two minutes left, the scoreboard read 27-23 in favor of the Falcons, setting the stage for extremely intense last minutes. The hawks needed six points in the final minute to turn the tide, but the Falcon's defense held firm. As the clock was marking the final 36 seconds, the score stood at 33-24 in favor of the Falcons, with EABH at a disadvantage. In the last minute, Mathieu Lessage (10) suffered an unfortunate injury, and despite the Hawks’ best efforts, the game ended with a final score of 35-24.
Even though the Hawks couldn't secure the win, important players like Tiago (with a three-pointer), Mathieu, Pedro Mourão (9), and Pedro Jorge all showed their skill on the court. Chase's dominance and Pedro Jorge's consistency as captain kept the Hawks competitive throughout the match. It was a hard-fought battle that showed the spirit and unity of the EABH team, proving that, win or lose, the Hawks never back down for a challenge.
